Parent Liaison Duties

Networking

  • Build a School Team of 2-10 parents who work with liaison to inform parents and the community, and mobilize parents to action.

  • Establish regional networks with other parent liaisons in area schools.

Educating

  • Inform school parents (and principals) via Federation newsletter, Home-School organizations, letters or phone tree.

  • Inform legislators of your opinion.

  • Inform the community through local media (radio talk shows, newspapers, parish bulletins).

  • Inform the Federation of major school issues in your school/community.

Mobilizing

Each “School Team”:

  • Contacts local, state or federal legislators or the media.

  • Contacts other parents through phone tree.

  • Attends hearing, meeting or rally.

  • Gets other parents to do the same.
